What is Road Freight?
Road freight is the process of moving goods and materials by truck in the certain time. This can include everything from small vans to large trucks, even oversize cargo and can involve shipments that are local, regional, national, or international in scope. At 2hm logistics, we have the experience and expertise to handle all types of road freight shipments, no matter how big or small.
There are two main types of road freight transport: full truckload (FTL) and less than truckload (LTL). FTL involves shipping large quantities of goods in a single truck, while LTL shipments are made up of smaller quantities that are consolidated into a single shipment by the logistics provider. Both FTL and LTL services may include additional services such as cross-docking, global distribution, or specialized handling for fragile or high-value items.

- Regulatory Constraints: Different regions have varying regulations on vehicle sizes, weights, and road usage, which can complicate logistics planning and increase costs.
- Limited Capacity for Large Volumes: While road freight is versatile, it may not be the most efficient choice for transporting very large or heavy shipments over long distances compared to rail or sea freight.
